Puppet Making Workshop

Overview

The Museum of Christian Art in collaboration with My Mollem, presents a puppet-making workshop and performance, led by artist Sonia Rodrigues Sabharwal. In an immersive two day workshop, young puppeteers will work with writers and artists to script, produce and perform their own puppet show, inspired by the nature- themed motifs and their stories at MoCA. Learn along side dragons and pelicans, in rivers and fields, as we travel through Mollem. Our young puppeteers will craft their own adventure, where will story lead them next? Join us for what promises to be an exciting and emotional ride! Sonia Rodrigues Sabharwal believes that puppetry as a creative form has the ability to enhance a child's imagination and helps build their confidence. While working with children, she explores glove and stick puppets, different from the string puppets that are usually associated with puppetry. The artist has held ten solo shows and participated in numerous group exhibitions and art camps, nationally and internationally. Her puppets have also been showcased at different events in Goa, including 'Miracles of Christ' a puppet show performed at MoCA earlier this year.
