Introduction to Terekhol River

Nestled in the northernmost corner of Goa, the Terekhol River, also known as the Banda River, is a serene and historically rich waterway that weaves a unique tapestry of natural beauty and cultural significance. Originating in the Manohargad hills of the Sahyadris in Maharashtra, this 32-kilometer river flows gently through the North Goa district before merging with the Arabian Sea at Querim Beach. The river's journey is marked by the imposing Terekhol Fort, a 17th-century marvel now transformed into a heritage hotel, offering breathtaking views of the Arabian Ocean. As the river winds its way, it passes through tranquil landscapes of lush greenery, quaint villages, and picturesque beaches, creating a perfect blend of tranquility and historical charm. The Terekhol River is a hidden gem, where the soft lapping of its waters against the shore and the whispering palm trees evoke a sense of peace and discovery.
