In Ponda, Goa, lies a hidden gem that whispers tales of a bygone era – the Safa Masjid. This 16th-century mosque, a testament to the region's rich multicultural history, stands as a resilient sentinel against the turbulent tides of time. Built by Ibrahim Adil Shah of Bijapur, or perhaps by Sultan Ali Adilshah I, this architectural marvel is a blend of Islamic and local Goan influences, its terracotta roof and laterite stone masonry evoking the simplicity and elegance of a forgotten age.As you step into its serene compound, the tranquil charbagh-style garden and the massive laterite stone tank, adorned with over 40 hammams, envelop you in a sense of peace and history. The air is thick with the scent of aged stone and the soft rustle of leaves, creating a haven that feels worlds apart from the bustling tourist trails. Here, in this quiet corner of Goa, you can uncover the intricate tapestry of medieval history, and find solace in the timeless beauty of the Safa Masjid.

Very good place for persons from outside Goa to visit. A leading and popular Hindu Temple of Goa, must see when in Goa. There is a temple of Kamakshi Devi inside this temple. Both the deities are worshipped together by the GSB community. There are lodging and boarding arrangements for the devotees.
Good Service
This place is full of art. Location is in inside the fort. Peaceful and many devotees come here for pray. An odd kind of peace and tranquility prevails within the premises.
