Introduction to Pequeno - Bat Island
Off the bustling coast of Vasco da Gama in Goa, Pequeno Island, or as the locals fondly call it, Bat Island, is a hidden gem that whispers secrets of the Arabian Sea. This tiny, unmanned island, stretching about 750 meters in length, is a natural sanctuary that beckons both nature enthusiasts and adventure seekers. As you approach the island by boat, the gentle lapping of the waves against the hull sets the tone for an unforgettable experience. The air is thick with the scent of salt and the chirping of fruit bats, giving the island its distinctive name. Once you step onto its sandy shores, you're enveloped by a world of crystal-clear waters, vibrant marine life, and a tranquil atmosphere that feels almost untouched by the hustle of mainland Goa. Here, you can snorkel through marine gardens teeming with colorful fish and sea turtles, or simply bask in the serene beauty of this isolated paradise. Bat Island is more than just a destination; it's an escape into the unspoiled heart of Goa's natural splendor.

What People Say about Pequeno - Bat Island
Good Service
Beautiful secluded island with pristine beaches. Perfect for a day trip away from the crowds. The boat ride to the island offers stunning views of the coastline.
Amazing Service
We visited at around 5 pm on 9th April 2016. We were staying at a resort on the North side of Palolem beach. The island is walking distance from there. We went at low tide, so we could reach it by walking across the river. The island is supposed to be home to a lot of monkeys, but we only saw a dog. The greenery is beautiful. There's a trail going to the top of the island.
Average Service
Interesting place but lacks facilities. The bat colony is impressive, but there's not much else to do on the island. Bring your own food and water as there are no shops or restaurants.
