Introduction to Netravali Wildlife Sanctuary
Tucked away in the southeastern corner of Goa, the Netravali Wildlife Sanctuary is a verdant oasis that embodies the raw beauty and biodiversity of the Western Ghats. Spanning 211 square kilometers, this sanctuary is a tapestry of dense, evergreen forests, moist deciduous vegetation, and bamboo brakes, all woven together by the gentle gurgle of perennial streams and the majestic cascades of the Saivri and Mainapi waterfalls. Here, the air is thick with the songs of the Malayan night heron, the Nilgiri wood pigeon, and the rufous babbler, while the ground is trodden by the likes of Indian gaurs, leopards, and four-horned antelopes. As you trek through its hills, which hold sacred significance for the locals, you'll discover ancient temples and shrines, adding a layer of cultural richness to this natural haven. It's a place where nature's symphony is at its most vibrant, inviting you to immerse yourself in its untamed splendor.

The overall area is nice. There are a couple of waterfalls also a sightseeing point but it needs a walk of 1km. Overall it's a good place, foggy atmosphere, good road condition.

Amazing bike ride through the ghats and countryside of Goa from Benaulim to Netravali passing through quaint hamlets on the way.
