Introduction to Madei Wildlife Sanctuary
Tucked away in the northernmost corner of Goa, the Madei Wildlife Sanctuary is a verdant jewel nestled within the Western Ghats, a region renowned for its breathtaking biodiversity. Spanning 208 square kilometers, this sanctuary is a tapestry of West Coast Tropical Evergreen Forests, Southern Moist Deciduous Forests, and Subtropical Hill Forests, each layer weaving a rich narrative of ecological harmony. The Madei River, which lends its name to the sanctuary, meanders through the landscape, creating a backdrop of gushing waterfalls, including the picturesque Vazra Sakla and Virdi Falls. Here, the air is alive with the songs of over 255 bird species, and the forests are home to elusive Bengal tigers, Indian leopards, and a myriad of other wildlife, making it a paradise for nature enthusiasts and a testament to Goa's commitment to conservation. As you trek through the dense forests or raft down the turbulent waters of the Madei River, the sanctuary unfolds as a sensory feast, a symphony of sounds, sights, and scents that immerse you in the raw beauty of India's natural heritage.

Mhadei Wildlife Sanctuary is a serene haven. The calm environment and scenic beauty are breathtaking. We spent hours walking through the forest, spotting various bird species and enjoying the tranquility. The dual Vazra Sakla and Virdi Falls are a must-see. A perfect place to reconnect with nature and each other.

What an epic day out at Mhadei Wildlife Sanctuary 🌟 We were all so hyped to see the black panthers, leopards, and Bengal tigers. The waterfalls were stunning, and the biodiversity is insane We had a blast exploring and learning about all the wildlife. Only wish there were some tourist facilities, but it didn't dampen our fun.
