Introduction to Galgibag

Tucked away in the deep south of Goa, along the serene banks of the Galgibag River, lies the enchanting Galgibaga Beach, affectionately known as Turtle Beach. This hidden gem, nestled in the Canacona Taluka, is a tranquil oasis that whispers secrets of a bygone era. The golden brown sands, fringed with swaying coconut palms and other lush trees, invite you to a world of unspoiled beauty. Here, the Olive Ridley turtles find a protected haven to lay their precious eggs, a testament to nature's delicate balance. As the sun dips into the Arabian Sea, the sky transforms into a kaleidoscope of pink, orange, and purple hues, creating a sunset that is nothing short of magical. With its isolated charm and the gentle lapping of the river against the shore, Galgibaga Beach is a haven for those seeking solace in the untouched beauty of Goa.

The Terekhol River and its historic fort are a treasure trove of cultural and historical significance. Staying at the Fort Terekhol Heritage hotel was like stepping back in time. The chapel, the barracks, and the memorial dedicated to freedom fighters all speak to a rich history that is beautifully preserved.
