Fort Aguada
Perched atop a hill overlooking the Arabian Sea, Fort Aguada is a testament to Goa's rich and turbulent past, a fortress that has stood the test of time with an unyielding presence. Completed in 1612 by the Portuguese under the watchful eye of Viceroy Ruy Tavara, this fort was the linchpin in the Portuguese defense against the relentless attacks of the Dutch and Marathas. As you step into its imposing walls, built from the rugged laterite stone that dots Goa's landscape, you're enveloped by the whispers of history. The fort's strategic location at the mouth of the Mandovi River offers breathtaking vistas of the sea and the surrounding coastline, while its internal secrets, such as the ancient freshwater spring and the well-preserved lighthouse, await your discovery. Here, the salty sea air mingles with the scent of aged stone, and every step reveals a piece of Goa's maritime heritage, making Fort Aguada an unforgettable journey through time.

An impressive fort with stunning views of the Arabian Sea. The lighthouse and the well-preserved walls offer great photo opportunities.
Amazing Service
Visited the Dil Chahta Hai fort with my college friends during our visit to GOA.. The fort is located in a hill and is little bit far from the city.. We reached here correctly on our rented bikes without any issues, thanks to Google Maps.. :) Climbing the hill was a task, but the view of the sea from the top is picturesque.. Better to visit the place on an evening so that it wont be hot.
Good Service
The fort is rich in history and offers panoramic views of the coastline. The walk along the ramparts is enjoyable and educational.
