Introduction to Church of Our Lady of the Rosary
Tucked away in the historic heart of Old Goa, the Church of Our Lady of the Rosary stands as a testament to the rich and complex history of this enchanting region. Built between 1544 and 1547, this church is one of the oldest and most preserved monuments of colonial times, its Renaissance architecture a stark contrast to the vibrant, tropical landscape that surrounds it. As you approach the church, the fortress-like exterior with its round-edged towers, crowns, and cupolas evokes a sense of resilience and grandeur. The interior, with its Gothic and Manueline styles, is a sensory feast – the high windows filtering in soft, golden light, and the intricate Indian manual designs adorning the walls. This church is more than a relic of the past; it's a living piece of Goa's cultural tapestry, a symbol of the Portuguese victory over the Deccan rulers, and a serene oasis amidst the bustling heritage sites of Old Goa. Here, history and beauty intertwine, making every visit a deeply immersive experience.

Amazing Service
This was charming on the outside and simply stunning on the inside. The chapel has been lovingly restored and sports some of the most exquisite stained glass this side of Notre Dame in Paris. Our good friends' daughter chose this location for her wedding and it was perfect in every way, except for the proud pastor needing to provide a ten minute (no exaggeration) history lesson on the chapel.
