Church of the Cross of Miracles
Perched on the southern outskirts of Old Goa, on the hill known as Boa Vista or 'Hill of Good View,' stands the Church of the Cross of Miracles, a testament to the rich and mystical history of the region. This hill, with its breathtaking vistas of Old Goa, is where shepherds once witnessed a miraculous cross that seemed to come to life, emitting bright lights and healing the sick. The church, built in 1619 and rebuilt in 1674, is a blend of Renaissance and Gothic architecture, its laterite and lime mortar structure a nod to the Portuguese legacy. Though the church and its convent now lie in ruins, the site remains a place of profound spiritual significance, where the air is thick with the stories of miracles and the whispers of a bygone era. As you ascend the hill, the ruins evoke a sense of reverence and awe, a reminder of the enduring power of faith and the mysteries that lie within.

This place has some amazing vibes, even though the church itself is in ruins. The hike up to Boa Vista hill is lit, with dense tree cover and stunning views of Old Goa 🌳🏞️. There's no food here, but the scenery makes up for it. It's a great spot to chill and take in the history. Worth a visit if you're into that sort of thing 🙌
