Chapel of Our Lady of the Mount
Perched atop a hill in Old Goa, the Chapel of Our Lady of the Mount is a hidden gem that whispers tales of a bygone era. This 16th-century chapel, built by Afonso de Albuquerque after his victorious conquest of Goa in 1510, stands as a testament to the strategic and spiritual significance of its location. As you ascend the hill, the Mandovi river unfolds below, with the islands of Divar and Chorao glistening in the distance. The chapel's simple, whitewashed exterior belies the lavish interiors, where intricate altars and vivid artwork come alive under the soft glow of sunset. Every year, this serene spot transforms into a vibrant hub during the Monte Music Festival, where classical melodies blend with the whispers of history. It's a place where time stands still, and the breeze carries the echoes of battles past and prayers present, making it a must-visit for anyone seeking a deep connection with Goa's rich heritage.

Amazing Service
The magnificent structure is the magnet which pulls you up with its alluring vistas. The climb leads to a hilltop majorly occupied by the Chapel & a cross facing the vast landscape in a 360 degree canvas. The churches in between lush surroundings, the Mandovi river meandering through serenely, the sounds of the forest with birds chirping disturbed occasionally by the hoot of a train engine passing over the bridge at a distance....are all a sight for sore eyes.
Amazing Service
This is a beautiful building/site to visit whilst in Goa. A remarkable part of history for Goa and India. Built during the Portuguese rule in India. The view from this place is picturesque. Apart from that, there's nothing much. I can not recommend this place for solo travellers because the church is kept closed and deserted most of the days.
Good Service
The structure is mesmerizing...has an eerie charm to it! Even though we ventured out in mid-afternoon...the shaded grounds & fabulous views were well worth the effort! A definite must-see detour from the touristy circuit.
