What to expect

Gather at the starting point (usually the CSMT McDonald’s or the Gateway of India) for a quick introduction to the city's "Seven Islands" history.

Marvel at the UNESCO-listed terminus and the dragon-adorned BMC building, the two crown jewels of Gothic Revival architecture.

Walk a short distance to see the massive dome of the GPO, inspired by the Gol Gumbaz of Bijapur.

Stroll down this iconic stretch, admiring the uniform neoclassical arcades that once housed the city’s most prestigious banks.

Stop at the center of the city to see the Roman-style fountain and learn about the "Martyrs' Square" significance.

Enter the crescent-shaped art precinct, home to the Blue Synagogue, the David Sassoon Library, and numerous galleries.

View the stunning Rajabai Clock Tower (Mumbai’s "Big Ben") and the majestic stone facades of the High Court.

Walk toward the Oval Maidan to see the unique contrast: 19th-century Gothic buildings on one side and 1930s Art Deco apartments on the other.

Head toward the waterfront to see the ceremonial entrance to India and the legendary Taj Mahal Palace Hotel.

The walk ends near the Colaba seafront. Your guide will provide recommendations for local Irani cafes nearby for a well-deserved Bun Maska and Chai.
