Overview

The Three Kings’ Church in Casualim village is a well-known haunted site in Goa, named after the three wise men who visited the newborn Jesus in Bethlehem. The church is also associated with a popular tale of three Portuguese kings who ruled over the land. One of the kings, driven by greed and thirst for power, poisoned and killed the other two, which infuriated his subjects and resulted in their uprising against him. Overwhelmed by his actions, the king eventually took his own life by consuming poison. According to local beliefs, the bodies of the three kings were buried under the church and their spirits continue to roam around the village and the church premises.
