Overview
The Museum of Christian Art (MoCA) is situated on the beautiful Holy Hill in Old Goa, within the walls of the 17th century Convent of Santa Monica. It is the first museum of its kind in all of Asia and was established through a collaboration between the Calouste Gulbenkian Foundation of Portugal and the Indian National Trust for Art and Cultural Heritage (INTACH) based in New Delhi. Recognized globally as a prime example of the unique cultural fusion of Indian and European traditions, the art objects on display at MoCA are renowned for their antiquity and distinctive Indo-Portuguese influence. As a result, the museum has attracted visitors and researchers from India and around the world. It is frequently listed as a "must-see" attraction in many international travel guides and art objects from its collection have been featured in major exhibitions worldwide.
