Overview

When it comes to waterfalls in Goa, Dudhsagar Falls is undoubtedly the first to come to mind. Its sheer grandeur is enough reason to visit Goa during the monsoon season! As the rains pour, the waterfall swells and the water cascades down, creating a stunning milky-white appearance, earning it the name Dudhsagar, which means "sea of milk". To reach this magnificent sight, it's best to book a train ticket to Castle Rock railway station and embark on a memorable trek or arrange for a jeep through the forest department, as private vehicles are not permitted in the forest area.

Highlights

  • The waterfall is at its peak flow during the monsoon season lasting from June to September
  • November to January is also one of the best times to visit the Dudhsagar Falls
