We along with our patrons and contributors have taken the trouble to make sure that you have all the right information at hand to do this by yourself. If you have any suggestions and improvements please do let us know on the WhatsApp chat below.
Overview
In 1635 on the order of D. Miguel de Noronha, conde de Linhares, Viceroy of the Portuguese State of India, O Fortaleza de São Sebastião de Colvale better known as the Colvale Fort was built to safeguard the northern borders of Bardez taluka in 1681. But now, it has largely vanished. Its most famous fights took place in the mid-eighteenth century. The Marathas took it in 1739, but the Portuguese reclaimed it in 1741. However, over time the fort was neglected and presently, most of the fort lies in ruins.
